The Force USA G Series All-In-One Gyms: How Are They Different and Which One Should I Buy?

The development of fitness equipment is constantly evolving and companies like Force USA are always adapting to the challenges of this competitive space. Their line of All-In-One Functional Trainers is the perfect example and continues to be one of our most popular items at Southern Workout! Why? They’re full of
features, have loads of attachments and provide users with a multitude of
workout options from just the one machine. Here we will look at four of the most
popular models of the Force USA All-In-One Trainer, the G3, G6, G9 and G12 and make a comparison so you can decide which one suits your needs better.

What is a Functional Trainer?

Functional Trainers are a piece of equipment that allows exercises involving your whole body with certain movements. The machine is designed to offer you a dynamic workout through weight resistance, usually consisting of two adjustable height cable pulleys that are either plate-loaded or pin loaded weight stacked. With the addition of a chin up bar on most machines, the functional trainer provides multiple possibilities in body motions that mimics sports specific
movements to improve performance.

About the Force USA G Series

The Force USA Monster G series is primarily a functional trainer but has evolved
into something much more with its numerous additions and options to become
an all-in-one gym. So, what do all the Functional Trainers in the G series come with? Each model will be different but here’s what they will all include across the board besides the thirty-page assembly manual (Yikes!). A combination of all these features has the potential of hundreds of movements and exercises.

  • Functional Trainer
  • Half Rack
  • Smith Machine
  • Multi Grip Chin Up Bar
  • Landmine Station
  • Leg Press
  • Weight Storage
  • Barbell Storage

Let’s Start with The G3

Price: $2999

three angles of the Force USA G3 All in One Gym

The Force USA G3 is the most basic of the Four G series all-in-ones but in no way does it lack in features. At first glance, the G3 doesn’t look as feature stacked as the rest, having a lighter look with a slightly smaller frame. It is ideal
for a home setting as it’s not built for the rigours of commercial use. But the main reason for the cheaper price is that it is a plate loaded machine meaning weight plates will have to be purchased separately and users will be limited to the number of weights available. The only other two features that the G3 lacks
compared to its counterparts is there’s no dip station and no suspension trainer
ring. Besides that, the G3 can still allow an impressive 75+ exercises safely without a spotter necessary.

The Monster G6 comes with everything that the G3 has with the main difference being the G6’s functional trainer has a pin loaded weight stack and the addition of upgraded accessories. Its smith machine is slightly angled for a more natural body movement and its commercial grade J-hooks makes it easy and safe to re-rack at any height when it’s loaded with weight plates.  For a slightly cheaper price, the G6 has pretty much the same capabilities as the G12 which is $1000 more.

There’s a G9?

Price: $3999

Force USA G9 in three different angles

Yes. there’s a G9. It may be a little confusing as to why the G9 is cheaper than the G6, but the reason is because the G9 is a plate loaded machine.  The G9 may lack weight stacks but it makes up for it with loads features and attachments. Its mechanics are built to withstand the round-the-clock handling in a commercial environment, utilizing quality parts for a comfortable and quality workout experience. Its smith machine is counterbalanced which reduces the net weight of the barbell, and its commercial grade guide rails provide an ultra-smooth movement. It is also fitted with safe lock with release mechanics and safety catch which allows you to lift your maximum load without the need of a spotter.

Meet The G12

Price: $5999

Force USA G12 in three different angles

Let’s talk about the G9’s big brother. The Force USA G12 all-in-one Trainer is a commercial grade functional trainer and comes with all the features that its younger sibling has.  The frame dimensions are pretty much identical with the only major advantage is that is comes with two pin loaded weight stacks.  Its smith machine is also counterbalanced and comes with all the safety features the G9 has to offer. So, for the extra price you are getting the convenience of a pin-loaded weight stack and be able to easily change weights with ease. But keep also in mind that to get the same amount of weight that the G12 has for the G9, it will cost you almost the $1000 difference between the 2 units."

Force USA G12 attachments

Which one should you choose?

The Force USA G series all-in-one Trainers is a great range, but its not ideal for everyone’s situation or goals.  If you’re serious powerlifter or have a high traffic facility, then none of these machines are for you.  But if you’re looking for a machine with versatility for your home, fitness studio or physio clinic then you can get bang for your buck with one of these machines. In saying that, by weighing up the price and features factor, the G6 would be my pick as the model that will suit most people’s needs. It comes with a pin-loaded weight stack for the functional trainer and the accessories and attachments aren’t all that different between the four models. Finally, it’s slightly smaller frame is ideal for a setting with limited space, making it a great addition for a home gym.
